Want to give your skin a much needed pick-me-up but just can’t squeeze in a spa day? Check out this cheap and easy way to make a Middle Eastern DIY Face Mask … it’ll give your skin a healthy, fresh glow with items found right in your fridge.
Middle Eastern DIY Face Mask
3/4 organic cucumber
2 1/2 TB plain organic yogurt
1 large organic egg white
1 3/4 tsp organic lemon juice
Chop 3/4 of the cuke into diced pieces (leave the skin on). Mix in a blender until it becomes a uniform puree.
Add the plain yogurt, lemon juice, and egg whites. Continue to puree until fully blended. Hint, the egg white will make it frothy.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and apply immediately to a freshly-washed face. If you prefer a chilled mask, place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before applying.
Leave it on for 25 minutes, then using warm water, rinse it off completely.

Cucumbers contain ascorbic and caffeic acids. These acids prevent water retention which is why when cucumbers are applied topically they are often helpful for swollen eyes, burns, and dermatitis.

Don’t toss those slimy “guts” from your jack-o-lantern … turn the seeds into a yummy treat instead. There are no scary ingredients in this all-natural and healthy snack. Greenista Girl Shubhra remembers having toasted and salted pumpkin seeds at her pre-school and has been in love with them ever since. Here is a grown-up, gourmet version using not just salt, but other spices as well.
Toasted Pumpkin Seeds
Organic pumpkin seeds
Organic olive oil
Organic salt
Organic garlic powder (optional)
Organic onion powder (optional)
Organic cayenne pepper (optional)
1. Rinse the pumpkin seeds and separate the pumpkin pulp.
2. Use your fingers to remove all the pulp. Drain pumpkin seeds and discard pulp.
3. Spread out on a baking sheet to dry overnight.
4. Preheat oven to 300 degree.
5. Lightly oil a baking sheet.
6. Toss pumpkin seeds in olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and your choice of garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Toss to coat.
7. Bake about 1 hour, tossing every 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
8. Cool pumpkin seeds before eating.
9. Eat them plain or top on salads, soup, or yogurt.
10. Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 months.
PS: Feeling extra spicy? Try other combos like curry, cumin, Hungarian paprika, and more. Get creative!

Greenista Girl Shubhra loves to serve this spicy margarita since she likes to Entice with Spice. After all, she comes from an Indian background where their food usually has a bit of heat to it.
Thought your margarita had a kick to it? Think again. For some real punch, try this Spicy Strawberry Margarita with jalapeño. With organic strawberries and agave nectar (a natural sweetener from the agave plant), this margarita is definitely worth toasting with. Salud!
Organic Spicy Strawberry Margarita
2 organic strawberries, hulled
1 organic jalapeño chile, cut into 4 slivers, seeds removed
3/4 ounces freshly squeezed organic lemon juice
1 1/2 ounces organic reposado tequila
1/2 ounce organic agave nectar
In a cocktail shaker, muddle (aka smash them) the strawberries, 3 of the jalapeño slivers, and the lemon juice until well mashed. Add the tequila and agave nectar and fill the shaker with ice cubes. Shake vigorously then strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with the remaining jalapeño sliver.
