Give Us A Hand: Natural Sanitizer

Greenista Girl Shivani

Want to applaud a natural hand sanitizer? Put your hands together for EO. In our search for a better (read: non chemical) hand cleaner for when baby comes along, we found EO Organic Lavender Hand Sanitizing Spray, and the Greenista Girls are in L.O.V.E.  The 0.33 ounce version is perfect for your purse – it’s lightweight, the same size as your lip gloss, and uplifting every time you use it.  Make sure to squirt 4 times not 3 — that’s a little secret we picked up.  Keep one in your car, your purse, your luggage, your gym bag…you get the idea. Try the bigger bottle for home to keep near baby, for all the well-wishers who want to hold your newborn. EO makes tons of other great products using lavender, eucalyptus, or peppermint essential oils for fragrance – whatever uplifts your mood – using a simple, clean list of ingredients, mostly organic. Plus, it’s paraben- and synthetic-free. Three cheers to that.

Greenista Girl Giveaway: Enter for a chance to win EO’s Organic Lavender Hand Sanitizing Spray in the travel size version and EO’s Heathly Hands Gift Set. To enter you must do 3 things: Tell us where you stash your hand sanitizer in the comment section below and post on our Facebook and Twitter pages. Greenista Girls will announce 26 winners in total!

Greenista Cocktail Factoid: By using organically-grown plants, EO products are free of any pesticides. Plus, using essential oils from plants grown in nature are less likely to be loaded with chemicals like factory produced scents and oils.

Scrub-a-Dub-Dub: DIY Lip Exfoliator

Greenista Girl Neha

Wanna wash away those chapped lips? Greenista has the perfect remedy for your rough pucker that won’t cost you much more than a few kitchen ingredients. It’s an all-natural lip exfoliator that will have every man wanting an eco-licious kiss.

DIY Lip Exfoliator

  • 1 tsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp honey

  • 2 tsp granulated sugar

  • Dash of lemon juice

Mix all the ingredients together in a glass jar or reusable plastic container.

Using your finger (or a tooth brush if you’re in really bad shape) rub it onto your precious pout for a quick minute.

Voila! Smooth lips. Wipe off with a tissue or leave on for the day.

Greenista Cocktail Factoid: Most lip products are petroleum based and women ingest 4 pounds of the stuff in a lifetime. You can rest easy knowing our lip scruff is made from edible ingredients sans harsh chems – lick away.
