My husband looked at me today and said you need to quick this addiction to crack. I looked at him in shock. He was watching me lovingly drink my first cup of green tea for the day – he thinks I’m an addict.
This reminds me of a scene from a movie (I never remember movie/song quotes/lyrics) – where a girl says I was addicted to smoking so I started chewing the gum, now I’m addicted to the gum, so I started smoking/something like that.
So it all started with Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate, I never liked coffee, so living in Boston that became my go-to warm drink. I work out with a trainer who does not allow such indiscretions as CHOCOLATE. So I started drinking diet coke every time we went out and I wanted something sweet. Now that I’m almost ready to have kids, and since I’m trying to be completely organic and natural, I’ve kicked the diet coke habit. But I’ve started drinking Teavana Jasmine Pheonix Green Tea with Rooibos Tropica & german rock sugar, or I stop by Starbucks and get a Tazo Refresh Tea with honey – both Healthy and Natural right? According to my brief research, green tea has minimal caffeine, a lot less than coffee – so yes, I might be used to having a little caffeine every day from it.
But apparently I’m a crack addict, because I NEED green tea. What is wrong with being addicted to something if it’s good for you? I’m addicted to green tea, working out, power yoga, spin class, and healthy eating. So sue me.

Nothing wrong with the Green Tea addiction! And that Teavana tea is truly soothing and delicious. Maybe your husband needs to get hooked himself!
